Restore Damaged or Missing Teeth in as Little as a Day!
There are countless ways for your teeth to become damaged. It can happen due to decay, accidents, sports, or any other kinds of trauma. Many of those very same causes of tooth damage can also be key factors in the complete loss of teeth, leading to gaps in your smile and a whole host of other problems. Shifting teeth can cause a domino effect of tooth loss after a lost tooth. Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to repair lost or damaged teeth, especially with the modern materials and methods available at Avant Dental!
Dental Crowns in Winnipeg – Single Tooth Restorations
When one of your teeth are damaged but still largely intact, a dental crown is the ideal solution. Crowns are made from ceramic that comes in a variety of shades designed to match your natural teeth. We’ll be able to find a great match for you that will make your crown indistinguishable from your natural teeth!
If you come to our Winnipeg Square office, we can even offer you a dental crown made while you wait! Our advanced CEREC milling machine will build a dental crown procedure based on a 3-D scan of your mouth in just about an hour. You’ll be able to leave with your brand-new tooth in just one visit!
Dental Bridges in Winnipeg– Replacing a Lost Tooth
The gap left behind by a missing tooth can be embarrassing, but we can craft the perfect replacement for you! Using lifelike ceramic that can be perfectly matched to your existing healthy teeth, we’ll craft a dental bridge that will restore your look and the function you lost along with your tooth.
What is a dental bridge? Bridges are one or more false teeth that are connected to two abutment teeth, which are covered with crowns. The crowns are permanently attached to your bridged teeth, resulting in a dental restoration that is practically indistinguishable from your natural teeth!
We also offer implant-supported bridges , which are permanently attached using one or more dental implants. The great advantage of these implant-supported versions is that they save you from having to reshape neighboring teeth!
Inlays and Onlays
Similar to crowns, inlays and onlays replace portions of your damaged teeth. Unlike a crown, neither of these restorations cover your entire tooth. Both inlays and onlays are designed to replace damaged chewing surfaces. Inlays replace only the chewing surface and are used when a large amount of decay has made a regular filling impractical. Onlays perform a similar function, but they also replace part of the side of your tooth as well.
If you get an inlay or onlay at our Winnipeg Square location, we’ll be able to use our CEREC machine to make your restorations while you wait, just like with our crowns!
The Crown and Bridge Process
When you come to one of our four Winnipeg area offices, we’ll start with a full exam of your affected teeth, as well as the rest of your mouth. Once we know you’re healthy enough to have a bridge or crown placed, we’ll start preparing you for your new restoration!
Preparing a tooth for a crown or your abutment teeth for a bridge involves the same process: reducing the size of the teeth so that they’ll comfortably sit under your restoration. In both cases, we’ll make a digital model of your mouth to be used in building your restoration. Crowns can be done while you wait at our Winnipeg Square location, but all bridges will have to be sent to a dental lab to be specially built for you.
While waiting for your bridge, you’ll be given a temporary bridge to protect your reshaped teeth. Placing both crowns and bridges is as simple as securing them in your mouth with a permanent adhesive, and then you’ll be ready to enjoy your new teeth!
